Adult Ministries

At FUMC Belvidere we strongly believe in providing adults with opportunities to continuely learn and study the Bible. We offer a variety of classes, from very indepth study of the Word of God to classes which you can drop in on. With this in mind, we invite you to join us on this grand journey of knowing, loving and serving God as we strive to be a community of committed Christians. Wherever you find yourself on this trip of a lifetime—in the exploration, planning, packing, mapping, first steps, refueling, you name it—we are here to travel with you.

We offer a wide range of small groups that meet throughout the week. Questions regarding Adult Studies can be directed to Karen Neibarger .

Current Class Offerings:

Sunday Mornings (9:45 am):

Introduction to Cathederals:The great cathedrals that dot the European cities and countryside are tourist "must see" for travelors today. in the Middle Ages cathedrals were testimonials to faith, expressions of Christian love and reflections of God. What we build expresses our concept of appropriate worship of God. Our class will be looking at these great cathedrals and discussing the elements of faith that created them. Everyone is invited. We meet in the Adult Classroom

Firm Foundations: Learn to build your home, relationships and personal lives on God's firm foundation. We will begin 2012 emphasizing organization and finances to create a godly environment in our homes. This class is open to all women who wish to focus on putting God first.

First Chronicles: This class is a detailed study of the books of the Old Testament using the Genesis through Revelation Bible Study series. We currently are studying 1 Chronicles. This is an on-going class that is open to anyone seeking to have more knowledge of the Bible. We meet in the Esther Room

Weekdays: Monday Mornings:

Matthew Bible Study

Tuesday Afternoon: Introduction to Cathederals:This class is so popular on Sunday mornings that we are offering during the week. Join us as we look at cathederals as expression and reflections of God. We will discuss how what we build expresses our concept of appropriate Worship. We will meet at 1:00 pm.
